orange cake


If you like a simple sponge cake … then you may like this with a cup of tea or served with fresh fruits for dessert.

I do everything in the Magimix. First I whizz two eggs, then I add 5 tablespoons of sugar and whizz. Next I add 5 tablespoons of melted butter and whizz. Then, five tablespoons of milk. Then, the peel and juice of an orange. Then 10-12 tablespoons of flour ( the consistency should be soft but not liquid). Finally, a packet of baking powder.

This is then poured into a buttered and floured rectangular tin 33 cm by 20 cms and cooked for 15 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 170°C.

I cut the cakes into squares and dust with icing sugar before serving. it will keep a few days in anair-tight tin.
